Joseph Oosting takes over at Go Ahead Eagles after Antwerp sacking

Joseph Oosting has made a return to the Eredivisie with Go Ahead Eagles. After spending a few months in charge of Antwerp in the Belgian Pro League, Oosting was sacked by the Great Old after a poor play-offs. However, he has not had to wait long to get another job. Go Ahead Eagles have announced that the former FC Twente man has signed a two year contract in Deventer to lead the side into the 2026/2027 Eredivisie season.

Oosting takes over from Melvin Boel, who was given the job after Paul Simonis was lured away to the Bundesliga. The former Dordrecht head coach Boel only won 12 games during his spell in charge, with 15 draws and 19 defeats. Prior to joining Antwerp, Oosting had spent two seasons with FC Twente, averaging 1.6 points per game and a 47% win ratio. During his time in charge of Antwerp Oosting won 11 and lost 12, with three draws.

Oosting now joins a Go Ahead Eagles side which finished the 2025/2026 Eredivisie season in 12th as they struggled to balance domestic football with their European adventures.
