Man United make call on Barcelona transfer pursuit

The board at Premier League outfit Manchester United have made the call not to move ahead with a potential deal for Barcelona star Alejandro Balde over the final days of the transfer window.

This comes with the Old Trafford hierarchy unwilling to meet the financial demands laid out by their Camp Nou counterparts.

Defender Balde was of course linked with a potential move to Manchester earlier this month. After being left out of Hansi Flick’s matchday squad for Barcelona’s opening fixture of the new season, speculation quickly began to circulate that the 22-year-old could be on the move before the summer is out.

Man United, on the lookout for reinforcements at left-back, therefore touched base with the player and his entourage, to gather information on a potential deal for Balde.

But as alluded to above, as of this moment, the English giants have no intention of stepping up their pursuit. As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his official YouTube channel:

”At the moment, Man United keep believing that Balde is too expensive, in terms of transfer fee and salary. For United, this deal has gone very, very cold.”
