Official: Getafe announce midfield signing
La Liga outfit Getafe have this weekend announced a fresh addition to the club’s first-team ranks in the middle of the park. This comes amid confirmation of the experienced Nemanja Gudelj penning terms at the Coliseum.
Versatile defensive midfielder/centre-back Gudelj has for his part spent the last seven years of his career plying his club trade in Spain.
After linking up with La Liga side Sevilla all the way back in 2019, the 34-year-old stayed put in Nervión through this summer, upon the expiration of his contract terms.
Gudelj, in turn, had since been available on the market as a free agent.
And as alluded to above, this weekend, just days out from the close of the transfer window, the 75-time capped Serbian international has found himself a new home.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of José Bordalás’ Getafe:
‘The 34-year-old Serbian international arrives at the Coliseum to bolster the midfield and bring his experience and versatility to the squad. Gudelj joins on a free transfer and has signed a one-year contract.’
