Barcelona in talks to extend Spotify shirt sponsorship agreement
Barcelona are reportedly in talks to extend their shirt sponsorship agreement with Spotify. Their current deal runs until 2026, but the music streaming giants are keen to continue their partnership, which represents one of the main revenue streams for the Blaugrana.
The music streaming giant has become a major part of Barcelona’s branding, not only appearing on their training kit and shirts, but also signing a naming rights deal with Barcelona for the Camp Nou ground. Meanwhile it has become tradition for Spotify to feature the logo of an artist on Barcelona’s shirt during Clasicos.
Barcelona’s current deal with Spotify
The current deal, which expires at the end of this season, sees Barcelona earn €57.5m from the front of their shirt, plus €5m from their training kit per season, as per Cadena SER. They do note that the training kit agreement expired this summer, but continues to appear.

Spotify to improve conditions of sponsorship deal
Their information is that Spotify, in accordance with a clause in their contract that required them to do so before the end of June, have notified Barcelona of their intentions to extend their agreement. Spotify are able to activate a clause which would see the agreement extended until the end of the 2029-30 season, a further four years.
They are in talks to extend the deal, but if Spotify were to activate that clause, then it would see Barcelona earn an extra €7.5m per season for their shirt sponsorship (€65m total). Sponsoring the front of their training shirt would cost Spotify €10m from next season, double the previous figure, and a spot on the back of it would be worth €5m per year – adding up to a total of €15m.

Camp Nou renovation issues
If Spotify were to take up all of those options, Barcelona could increase their earnings by €17.5m per year from their agreements together. DR Congo have taken up a sponsorship agreement with Barcelona on the back of their training shirt and their shirt sleeve worth €10-11m per year over four years until 2029.
It is worth noting that this news comes following concerning information on Barcelona’s agreements regarding the renovation of Camp Nou. In particular, if the stadium is not completed by 2028, Spotify would be able to end their naming rights agreement.
