Real Madrid ponder offering Eduardo Camavinga in deal to sign Enzo Fernandez
Real Madrid are making plans to open talks with Chelsea for Enzo Fernandez, and they could allow Eduardo Camavinga to go the other way.
According to Fichajes, Real Madrid are not losing sight of Enzo Fernandez, as they continue to view the Argentine as a long-term option for their midfield unit. The Spanish giants are set to ponder talks with Chelsea over the World Cup winner, and they are reportedly willing to send Eduardo Camavinga as part of the deal the other way.
Enzo Fernandez was the subject of speculation and a move away from Chelsea in the summer as some of the Spanish giants showed an interest. Atletico Madrid were considered a suitor for the World Cup winner, although it was Real Madrid who had concretely wanted the 24-year-old star.
Xabi Alonso viewed several midfield names to find a balance for his squad, and the 24-year-old Chelsea star was one of those. Real Madrid were reportedly preparing a big-money offer, although that never came by due to Chelsea’s insistence that the player was not for sale
Other reports stated Fernandez was keen on a switch to Real Madrid, which may have let the Spanish giants retain an interest in the central midfielder. Now, the Merengues are eager to explore an idea where they could swap Eduardo Camavinga for Enzo Fernandez, as possible talks could commence with Chelsea.
Chelsea are indeed interested in Camavinga as a target, although it remains to be seen whether a swap deal involving the midfielder and the Argentine could work out. Chelsea will likely do business if any deal suits their finances, meaning that should they see a potential profit in a deal involving Camavinga and Fernandez, they might just do it.
Eduardo Camavinga to leave Real Madrid?
Signed from Rennes in a €30 million deal a few years ago, the Frenchman has established himself as a key part of this Real Madrid side under Carlo Ancelotti. However, the arrival of Alonso has caused some problems for the player, as he was an unused substitute for the UEFA Champions League opener while not playing a single minute in La Liga so far, albeit due to injury.
Nevertheless, there are significant doubts about whether the €30 million utility man is coming to the end of his time at the Santiago Bernabeu. If that is the case, then swapping Camavinga for the 24-year-old Chelsea star would be an astute piece of business, possibly even for both clubs involved.
