Barcelona handed injury boost before Getafe
La Liga giants Barcelona have on Wednesday been afforded a timely boost on the personnel front. This comes amid confirmation that star goalkeeper Joan García has returned to training on the grass.
Shot-stopper Joan was for his part condemned to a spell on the sidelines prior to the international break.
After slipping awkwardly during a La Liga meeting with Racing Santander, the 25-year-old was revealed to have suffered a knee injury.
Joan, in turn, spent recent weeks working on his recovery at the Ciutat Esportiva, under the watchful eye of the Barcelona medical department.
And as alluded to above, on Wednesday, the Spanish international’s return to competitive action appears to have moved a significant step closer.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, Joan rejoined group training alongside the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad for the first time this month earlier today.
The shot-stopper could therefore yet be cleared to play his part in Barca’s post-international break return to action against Getafe at the Spotify Camp Nou on Saturday.
