Jérémy Jacquet to miss out on France v Belgium, Leny Yoro set for international debut

Liverpool centre-back Jérémy Jacquet won’t start tonight’s UEFA Nations League tie between France and Belgium, L’Equipe reports. The former Rennes Academy graduate reportedly suffers from a physical issue. The outlet gathers that Jacquet’s injury is not serious enough to pull out from the squad. He’s therefore poised to start tonight’s game from the bench. Zidane only has two centre-backs to rely for tonight with Chelsea’s Maxence Lacroix and Manchester United’s Leny Yoro.

The former Lille OSC centre-back will make his international debut against Mark van Bommel’s Red Devils. Yoro joined the France squad at the 11th hour to replace the injured Ibrahima Konaté. Meanwhile, L’Equipe understands that Yoro won’t be the only debutant tonight at the Stade de France. Indeed, Toulouse goalkeeper Guillaume Restes will be thrown in at the deep Stade de France end with AC Milan’s Mike Maignan given a breather.
