Bournemouth left-back Adrien Truffert emerges as key beneficiary of France training camp

AFC Bournemouth’s Adrien Truffert (24) has been named among the players who have scored the most points in Zinédine Zidane’s eyes during the international break with France, according to L’Équipe.

Starting against Turkey (0-1) and then Italy (1-1), Truffert stood out in particular for his ability to make numerous runs, his work rate and his dominance in one-on-one situations.

These qualities have been noted and appreciated by the France coaching staff, even as they express concern over the lack of depth in the full-back positions. Andy Diouf (23), who was also called up and made his debut for France against Belgium – and is regarded by Zidane as a wing-back – was also tried out on the left.

Whilst no place is guaranteed and several players, including Sunderland AFC’s Dayann Methalie (20), could also have a chance to prove themselves, Truffert has nonetheless justified the faith placed in him by his new manager.
