PSG interested in Diogo Costa; Lucas Chevalier’s future in question
Paris Saint-Germain are interested in FC Porto’s Diogo Costa (26), with Lucas Chevalier’s future at the club up in the air, as per a report from L’Équipe.
Chevalier was brought in from formative club Lille OSC last summer, however, he has disappointed. Error-strewn during the opening months, he was replaced by Matvey Safonov at the turn of the year. The Russian has retained his place in the line-up ever since, even though reports in France have suggested that he isn’t necessarily viewed as the long-term No.1.
Chevalier does not wish to remain at PSG if he is to remain in a back-up role and so his future may lie away from the Parc des Princes. It is within this context that Les Parisiens, who retained their UEFA Champions League crown on Saturday, have shown an interest in Porto’s Costa. The Portugal international’s current deal with his club runs until 2030.
