The value of the release clause included in the contract of Real Betis summer signing Troy Parrott has this week been revealed in the Spanish media.

This of course comes amid a week to remember for the Irishman in the colours of his new club.

First, last weekend, Parrott netted the only goal of the game off the bench, as Manuel Pellegrini’s troops put the mighty Real Madrid to the sword in La Liga.

Then, days later, the 24-year-old was back at it again, slotting home a fine winner to guide Betis past French outfit Lille in the club’s Champions League season opener.

Such exploits have already seen chatter begin to spread in Spain regarding the potential bargain which the brass at La Cartuja may well have secured for themselves this summer.

Parrott was brought to Seville from AZ Alkmaar for a fee with the potential to rise to €20 million.
