Serie A Preview: Juventus vs Fiorentina – Team News, Lineups & Prediction

Juventus continue their quest to secure a coveted top-four finish in Serie A with a must-win home clash against Fiorentina on Sunday. With only a point separating them from fifth-placed Roma, the Bianconeri have no margin for error in the penultimate round of fixtures.

Despite going unbeaten since the start of March, Juventus’ return to the Champions League is not a foregone conclusion just yet. After a pair of back-to-back low-scoring draws against Milan and Hellas Verona, Luciano Spalletti’s side returned to winning ways last weekend.

Unfazed by a lengthy injury layoff, star striker Dusan Vlahovic inspired his team to a vital 1-0 victory at Lecce, scoring the winning goal after just 14 seconds. In doing so, the former Fiorentina center-forward helped Juventus extend their unbeaten Serie A streak to ten matches (W6, D4) and overtake Milan in the standings.

Although Vlahovic is on the verge of leaving Juventus as a free agent at the end of the season, he is looking to go out in style. Facing his old club could potentially end his two-game scoring run, given that he has failed to find the net in all eight previous appearances against La Viola.

With Serie A survival already in the bag, Fiorentina will face Vlahovic without any kind of pressure, even though they are winless in four consecutive league games (D3, L1). Nevertheless, they are destined for their lowest finish since the 2018/19 season, languishing 15th in the standings, four points adrift of 13th-placed Parma.

Match Preview

Juventus

A fiercely contested race for Champions League qualification will go down to the wire, so Juventus cannot afford to take this meeting lightly. However, they’ve been relentless against ‘lesser’ teams this season, going unbeaten in all 13 home clashes against sides outside of the top six (W7, D6).

Furthermore, six of those seven victories came by at least a two-goal margin, suggesting this could be plain sailing for the record-time Italian champions. Against this backdrop, Juventus are enduring their longest winless run against Fiorentina since 2008, failing to beat La Viola in each of their last three league showdowns (D2, L1).

Desperate to buck that trend this weekend, Juventus can find comfort in their dominant home run against the Tuscan outfit, having won four of their last five meetings at the Allianz Stadium (D1). Moreover, each of those wins produced a clean sheet, which has been the case in each of Juve’s five Serie A home triumphs in 2026.

Fiorentina

Moise Kean’s absence due to injury has weighed heavily on Fiorentina, who have failed to get on the scoresheet in each of their last three league outings, including a humiliating 4-0 defeat at Roma on their most recent road trip. It’s difficult to expect the visitors to bounce back here, especially considering their underwhelming away record this season.

Indeed, Paolo Vanoli’s men have won just three Serie A away matches in 2025/26 (D6, L8), while they’ve lost their last five such clashes against current top-five teams, finding the net only twice in the process. It’s also hard to overlook the fact that they’ve kept just three clean sheets on the road all season.

In search of good omens, Fiorentina held Juventus to a hard-fought 1-1 draw in November’s reverse fixture. Vanoli’s side fought back from a halftime deficit to rescue a point in that meeting. However, they’ve claimed just two points in eight away games when conceding first this term (D2, L6).

Team News

Apart from long-term absentees Arkadiusz Milik and Juan Cabal, Juventus will have the rest of the squad fit for this ‘must-win’ clash. With Vlahovic at the peak of his powers, Jonathan David is likely to drop to the bench again, as the Serbian striker gears up for his second consecutive league start.

On the other hand, Fiorentina will take this trip without Kean, who remains the only notable absentee in the traveling camp. Misfiring star Roberto Piccoli is expected to take the Italian’s place in the starting XI at the expense of Albert Gudmundsson, who has recently tumbled down the pecking order.

Juventus vs Fiorentina Potential Starting Lineups

Juventus (4-2-3-1): Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Bremer, Kelly, Cambiaso; Thuram, Locatelli; Conceicao, McKennie, Yildiz; Vlahovic.

Fiorentina (4-1-4-1): De Gea; Dodo, Pongracic, Ranieri, Gosens; Fagioli; Parisi, Ndour, Mandragora, Solomon; Piccoli.

Juventus vs Fiorentina Prediction

These sides have combined for 12 clean sheets across their last 18 Serie A matches, pointing toward a cagey and hard-fought encounter. However, Juventus have everything to play for here, while Fiorentina already look mentally checked out after securing safety.

Prediction: Juventus to Win
