Bayer Leverkusen vs Arsenal: Team news and predicted line-up
After being held to a 3-3 draw against Freiburg at the weekend, Bayer Leverkusen are likely to field a similar line-up when they host Arsenal in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League last 16 on Wednesday night.
Interestingly, Montrell Culbreath (18) is likely to retain his place on the right with Lucas Vázquez and Arthur both injured. Should Kasper Hjulmand was to field a counter-attacking side, then Ernest Poku could also replace Ibrahim Maza.
Alongside Aleix Garcia – who has shone in the Champions League, Exequiel Palacios, who was a substitute against Freiburg, should start ahead of Ezequiel Fernandez.
Additionally, Loic Badé (thigh), Eliesse Ben Seghir (ankle) and Mark Flekken (knee) are all sidelined, while Nathan Tella is lacking match fitness. Although after missing Leverkusen’s last two games, Patrik Schick returns the squad after recovering from a muscular problem.
