Real Madrid line up €30 million move for Pedro Porro

Real Madrid are lining up a €30 million move for Pedro Porro and remain intent on wrapping up a deal early for the Spurs full-back.

According to Fichajes, Pedro Porro is emerging as a big target for Real Madrid ahead of the summer. Florentino Perez wants the 26-year-old wide man from Tottenham as a direct replacement for the ageing Dani Carvajal, with the Spanish giants planning on making an initial bid worth €30 million.

Real Madrid have had problems in the right-back position since the start of the season. Back in the summer, they signed Trent Alexander-Arnold, viewing him as the long-term option for the role, but the English international has been marred by injury issues and form concerns since he arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu.

While Florentino Perez is not planning on parting ways with Alexander-Arnold, he is, in fact, looking at adding another competitive option in the position. The future of Dani Carvajal is a subject still under discussion in the offices of Real Madrid, as they see Pedro Porro as a viable replacement for the veteran.

Porro, a 15-cap Spanish international, has had a tough season at Tottenham, who are currently battling relegation in the Premier League. In the scenario they go down, many of their players, including the 26-year-old wide man, will seek exits, and should Real Madrid come in with an offer, he could be tempted by the switch.

Real Madrid are planning an initial €30 million bid for the Spaniard, but that is not the kind of money that Spurs would want. The North Londoners invested heavily in signing Porro, they and will be eager to make a profit. Additionally, they are protected by a contract until 2028, which does give them leeway in negotiations.

Real Madrid to sign Pedro Porro?

An offer from Real Madrid will prove compelling for Porro, and there is a strong chance he will consider the switch away from Spurs. The Merengues will have to make a better bid than the reported €30 million offer, while being mindful of the competition. Perez does not want to get embroiled in a transfer battle for the 26-year-old, which could potentially see an offer arrive early.

Inter Milan are also interested in Porro and could make a move for the Tottenham man sooner if they sense competition for the full-back. Either way, the 15-cap Spanish international could have plenty of offers on the table to leave Tottenham in the summer, but there is a feeling he might prefer a club of Real Madrid’s stature if given the choice.
