Rémy Descamps set for Lyon contract extension
Rémy Descamps (29) is set to extend his contract with Olympique Lyonnais, according to reports in L’Équipe.
Currently under contract with the Rhône-based club until 2027, the Marcq-en-Baroeul native will sign an additional two-year extension, keeping him at the club until June 2029.
Arriving on a free transfer from FC Nantes in the summer of 2024, Descamps established himself as a first-choice substitute for Paulo Fonseca’s team. A starter at the beginning of the season, during which he performed well, before the signing of Dominik Greif (28), the two-time French Cup winner has made 11 appearances in goal for Lyon since the start of the 2025-26 campaign.
Regularly used in the Europa League and a starter in the Coupe de France, the 1.96m goalkeeper has already racked up seven clean sheets and conceded seven goals, suffering his only defeat away to Stade Rennais (3-1) last September. A remarkable record for a player who has become a key figure in the dressing room and is highly regarded by his teammates.
