PSG duo Fabián Ruiz and Ousmane Dembélé rested ahead of Champions League tie
Paris Saint-Germain duo Ousmane Dembélé and Fabián Ruiz were absent from first-team training on Monday, ahead of their UEFA Champions League play-off second-leg against AS Monaco on Wednesday night.
PSG head into that game with a slender one-goal advantage, having beaten the Principality club 3-2 at the Stade Louis II last Tuesday. However, that win did come at a cost, with Dembélé being withdrawn within 30 minutes due to injury. He was replaced by Désiré Doué, who would ultimately prove to be the difference-maker.
But a PSG side with Dembélé is stronger, and it is unclear whether the Ballon d’Or winner will be present to face Monaco. He was absent from training on Monday, as reported by L’Équipe, as was Fabián Ruiz, who has not featured since 20th January. The Spaniard is suffering from a minor knee injury and has now returned to individual training. Quentin Ndjantou and Senny Mayulu are confirmed absentees for the reigning European champions.
