Predicted Barcelona lineup against Levante: Lewandowski in for Ferran Torres; Pedri in contention
Robert Lewandowski will replace Ferran Torres in the Barcelona starting lineup when they host Levante at the Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday.
Barcelona will be eager to usurp Real Madrid and return to the summit of La Liga when they welcome Levante to the Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday evening. Hansi Flick has received positive updates on the team news front ahead of his side’s latest fixture.
Pedri (hamstring) and Marcus Rashford (knee) have resumed training after recovering from their injuries, with the former available to take on Levante this weekend. Meanwhile, Gavi is closing in on returning from a long layoff due to a knee issue.
However, Andreas Christensen (knee) remains in the treatment room for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Flick provided fitness updates on Pedri, Gavi, and Rashford.
The Barcelona head coach said, “The most positive thing I see is that Pedri and Rashford are back and that Gavi is progressing. Maybe Pedri can play a few minutes, but the positive thing is that he’s back. He’s very important for us — he’s a different kind of leader thanks to his quality.”
“We’ll take things step by step [Gavi]. He’s always present at concentration training, and he’s also making the right decisions in all training sessions. We can see that he’s a player who enjoys playing football, not just because of his mentality, but also because of his quality on the pitch. I hope he returns quickly, but as I said, we’ll take things step by step. We have the fitness coaches who are doing a great job with him, and they’ll help him get back to his level.”
Joan Garcia is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Barcelona lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against Levante on Sunday. The backline will feature Jules Kounde, Pau Cubarsi, Eric Garcia, and Alejandro Balde.
As for the midfield unit, Fermin Lopez will pair up with Frenkie de Jong in the double pivot, with Dani Olmo reprising the no. 10 role. Finally, Robert Lewandowski will replace Ferran Torres as the central striker, with Raphinha and Lamine Yamal being the two wide attackers. So, Pedri and Torres will be among the backup options on the bench for the home side.

Predicted Barcelona XI: Joan Garcia; Kounde, Cubarsi, Eric Garcia, Balde; Fermin, de Jong; Yamal, Olmo, Raphinha; Lewandowski
