Milan’s Strahinja Pavlovic dodges injury setback after big scare
Serie A side Milan will breath a sigh of relief to see their defender Strahinja Pavlovic come away clear of any injuries in today’s medical tests.
According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pavlovic has managed to avoid any significant injury after being forced off the pitch following a strong tackle by Ignace Van der Brempt late in the first half of the Como match.
The Serbian defender underwent a medical examination this morning and the Rossoneri will be delighted to see him come away largely unscathed, except for a hematoma in his soft tissue area near the fibula of his left leg. This is of some concern to Massimiliano Allegri and his technical team as the development makes the player’s involvement in Milan’s upcoming fixture against Parma uncertain.
Pavlovic’s recovery is expected to be a short one, and he could well make the squad for the 1st March game versus Cremonese. If the 24-year-old does not get deemed fit in time for the match against the Gialloblu, Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia and Koni De Winter will start in defence as Allegri made his formation changes during the second half after the Pavlovic incident.
Milan will have Ruben Loftus-Cheek back in the starting lineup against Parma as the English midfielder missed out on action in the Como clash due to a mild virus. Adrien Rabiot will also feature in the match after serving his suspension yesterday.
