Chelsea, Manchester City, Bayern Munich vying for Igor Thiago
Chelsea, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on signing Brentford attacking mainstay Igor Thiago.
Igor Thiago has been on fire for Brentford in the ongoing campaign, and on the back of his performances, some of the biggest clubs in Europe are keen on signing him. The Bees are aware of the increasing interest, and they have already done everything they could to secure his services.
Brentford have handed him a new deal that runs until 2031, with the West London club having an option to extend it by another 12 months. While the Bees are over the moon because of the new deal, the interest in his services still remains intact. According to a report from TEAMtalk, Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich remain keen on his signature despite the new deal.
Igor Thiago joined the Bees in the summer of 2024 from Club Brugge. The player went on to have a disaster of a debut campaign, as he could only feature in eight matches because of multiple injuries. However, he has bounced back in some fashion this time around.
With Bryan Mbeumo no longer at the club, Thiago has taken over as the leader of their attack, and he is certainly doing the talking on the pitch. In his 27 outings across competitions, the Brazilian striker has 18 goals and an assist. 18 of those goal contributions have come in the Premier League.

Given the 24-year-old’s sensational performances in the English top flight, it is not a surprise that clubs like Chelsea, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich are after his signature. They are very impressed with him and are very actively monitoring the young striker.
Igor Thiago’s performances have forced Carlo Ancelotti to think about having him in his squad for the World Cup. While every top club in Europe has watched him in action over the last six months, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich are the biggest suitors, as they seem willing to break the bank for him despite his new deal with Brentford.
For Manchester City, the club’s director of football, Hugo Viana, is doing the due diligence on the player, as they look to bring in a young striker for the long run. Meanwhile, Chelsea consider him an ideal fit for their project, while Bayern have also added him to their list as a potential long-term replacement for Harry Kane.
