Liverpool ready to cash in on Mohamed Salah

Arne Slot’s Liverpool are now ready to sanction the departure of their star forward, Mohamed Salah, ahead of next season.

Mohamed Salah’s future has been a massive talking point in recent months. The Egyptian international’s relationship with Arne Slot as well as the board has deteriorated of late, and as things stand, Salah’s future seems to be away from Anfield.

According to Pete O’Rourke via Football Insider, Liverpool will now be open to his departure next summer, as the 33-year-old right-winger will only have a year left on his deal. Not only are the Reds ready to cash in on him, but even Salah also seems keen on making the switch.

After failing to fire at Chelsea, the Egyptian international revived his career at AS Roma. He then joined Liverpool in the summer of 2017. Salah hasn’t looked back since joining them. Not only has he gone from strength to strength, but he is also widely regarded as one of the best ever to play in the Premier League.

Salah has helped Liverpool win all major titles. The 33-year-old was on fire last season, and he certainly played a big part in their league triumph. On the back of it, the Reds convinced him to continue at the club, and he ended up signing a new two-year deal.

However, things haven’t worked out for Salah since penning the new deal. He has been a shadow of his former self, and his comments in the media towards the end of last year have resulted in a lot of talk about his future.

O’Rourke on Salah’s future

While speaking about Salah’s situation, O’Rourke said, “This story never goes away, it rears its head in every transfer window, pretty much. We know that Mo Salah is a top target for the Saudi Pro League.

It was a couple of seasons ago when Al Ittihad made that big £150million offer, which was rejected by Liverpool.

“Look, it’s not been a great season for Mo Salah on and off the pitch. He obviously had that bust-up with Arne Slot, and then obviously his form’s not been anywhere near as good as it was last season, which was going to be hard to replicate.

He’s back in favour right now, but I think his long-term future is definitely in doubt.

He’s in the final 18 months of his contract, come the summer he will just have a year left on this lucrative contract and maybe it could be the right time for a parting of the ways for everybody.”

Salah set to leave Liverpool?

He admitted that he felt the club had thrown him under the bus. His relationship with Slot completely broke down, and he ended up getting benched. However, the AFCON break has helped Salah, and he is now back in their starting XI.

He didn’t push for a move mid-season and has worked his way back into Slot’s plans. However, that doesn’t solve all the problems regarding his future. He could still end up leaving the club in the summer if all parties involved are open to a move.

Saudi Pro League clubs are ready to break the bank for him, and it seems Salah is finally thinking about a move to the Middle East. Meanwhile, the summer window will be Liverpool’s final opportunity to raise some funds from his departure. As a result, they look set to cash in on him.
