Rennes pushing for deadline day move for Mainz’s Arnaud Nordin
Rennes are pursuing a deadline day move for FSV Mainz striker Arnaud Nordin (27), according to Le Parisien. The Bretons are keen to bolster Habib Beye’s options up front as his attacking players have hit a rough patch recently. Rennes only scored one goal in their last three Ligue 1 games. Rennes have parted ways with promising Academy graduate Kader Meïté, who joined Al-Hilal in a €30m deal.
Meïté will be replaced by Famalicão’s Yassir Zabiri, but it appears Rennes are keen to sign an extra striker in Nordin. The Frenchman would make a return to Ligue 1 after previous spells in Montpellier and Saint-Etienne. Le Parisien understands that Rennes and Mainz are in talks over loan with an option to buy. Nordin is contracted with Mainz until June 2028.
