Juventus make approach for Beto, Everton reluctant to sanction deal

Juventus have knocked on the door of Everton to sign their striker Beto, but the Toffees are reluctant to sanction his departure.

Juventus are desperately looking to add more quality to their attack before the end of the transfer window. According to a report from The Sun, the Old Lady enquired about the availability of Beto. They knocked on the doors of Everton with hopes of striking a deal, but it seems the Toffees do not intend to negotiate his departure.

Beto made quite a name for himself with his impressive performances for Udinese, and on the back of it, Everton forked out a fortune to sign him. They agreed a deal worth up to £30 million with the Italian outfit to sign him back in 2023.

Over the years, Beto has been involved in 98 matches and has contributed towards 21 goals. Of late, his game time has taken a massive hit, as Thierno Barry is ahead of him in the pecking order. The former Udinese striker has racked up just over 1,000 minutes this season, and he has bagged four goals.

Juventus want Beto; deal unlikely

While Beto’s contract runs until the summer of 2027, the lack of game time has resulted in a lot of talk about his future at the club. Juventus have emerged as a potential destination for the 28-year-old striker.

The Old Lady have enquired about his availability, as they desperately look to bring in a new striker. With Arkadiusz Milik and Dusan Vlahovic out injured, it is quite clear why Juventus are pushing so hard to sign Beto.

But it seems they are unlikely to get their hands on the former Udinese striker. The Guinea-Bissau international, who bagged a last-minute equaliser at Brighton & Hove Albion this past weekend, might not be a regular starter at Everton. However, the Merseyside outfit are still reluctant to part ways with him in the final hours of the winter transfer window.

Since the Toffees only have two senior strikers on their books, they are completely against sanctioning his departure. As a result, the Serie A giants might be forced to look elsewhere in the final fours of the winter transfer window.
