Arsenal fail with bid to sign Igor Tyjon
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have failed with their attempt to sign Blackburn teenage attacking sensation Igor Tyjon.
Igor Tyjon is considered one of the brightest young talents in the world, and his impressive rise hasn’t gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs want to prise him away from Blackburn.
While the Championship outfit would love to have him around for years, they are aware that keeping him around for long will not be possible, given the amount of interest in him. They are just looking to ensure they bag a fortune if they do end up selling him.
Arsenal are one of the most serious suitors, and they recently tabled a fresh bid to sign the 17-year-old. According to a report from football.london, Blackburn have rejected the North London club’s offer for their attacking sensation. It will be interesting to see if the Gunners return with an improved offer before the deadline.
Tyjon joined Blackburn’s youth setup in 2023, and he got promoted to their first team ahead of the ongoing campaign. The 17-year-old striker has already been involved in three senior games. The English youth international has massive potential, and all top clubs in the country want him.
Aston Villa and Manchester United are two top Premier League clubs that have been linked with him. Both clubs consider him a great investment for the long run. They continue to monitor his situation from afar.
Arsenal have failed to strike a deal for Tyjon
Arsenal were looking to beat both clubs to his signature in this window. However, it seems they will have to wait until next summer. The Gunners were looking to sign him last summer, when he had only 12 months left on his deal.
But multiple offers worth over £1 million from the North London club were turned down, as the Championship outfit were confident about tying him down to a new deal. However, that hasn’t worked out.
Arsenal put forward an offer in the region of £1 million to sign him mid-season. While they offered Blackburn one final opportunity to cash in on him, they have turned it down.
As things stand, Tyjon will be a free agent in the summer, and all three Premier League giants will have to battle for him, with the Championship outfit only getting a compensation fee. With the final few hours left, it will be interesting to see if the Gunners return with one final offer.
