Antonin Kinsky set for Tottenham stay amid West Ham United links
Antonin Kinsky will not leave Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the winter transfer window amid his links with West Ham United.
According to an update by Sebastian Stafford-Bloor on The Athletic, Antonin Kinsky is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers have been keen on bolstering their first-team squad by signing a shot-stopper before the winter transfer window shuts down. So, the 22-year-old Tottenham Hotspur shot-stopper emerged as a target for the East London club.
However, the latest report has produced bad news for West Ham, as Kinsky will remain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium beyond the winter transfer window. While recent reports suggested that the Irons have been intensifying their efforts to sign the Czech goalkeeper, they must look elsewhere for a new shot-stopper.
How has Antonin Kinsky fared at Tottenham?
Antonin Kinsky has had to bide his time since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Slavia Praha in a deal worth €16 million in January 2025. The 22-year-old received regular game time immediately after moving to the North London club, as Guglielmo Vicario was in the treatment room. However, the youngster has been a backup starter in the last 18 months.
The player has managed only 180 minutes of game time in two outings thus far in the 2025/26 season, as Thomas Frank has only handed him opportunities in the EFL Cup. So, it is hardly surprising that widespread reports have linked Kinsky with a move away from Tottenham, with West Ham United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the winter transfer window.
Move across London on the horizon?
Recent reports have claimed that West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur may sanction a shock swap deal involving Antonin Kinsky and Mads Hermansen. The East London club’s interest in the Tottenham goalkeeper is understandable, as Mads Hermansen has failed to win over Nuno Espirito Santo.
Additionally, widespread reports have suggested that a move away from West Ham may be on the cards for the Danish shot-stopper. So, Kinsky emerged as a viable target, with recent reports claiming the Hammers have been closing in on securing his services in the winter transfer window.
However, while reports suggested Tottenham would allow the 22-year-old Czech goalkeeper to leave, he is not going anywhere. The report has conveyed an intriguing logic on this saga, suggesting the move “would have made little sense for Spurs” due to various reasons. As for West Ham, it will be interesting to see who they identify as an alternative to Kinsky.
