Everton join Tammy Abraham race, Aston Villa table bid

Aston Villa and Everton are reportedly keen on signing 28-year-old English striker Tammy Abraham amid his game-changing exploits for Besiktas.

According to a report by Turkish outlet Sabah, Tammy Abraham is the subject of interest from Aston Villa. The Villans are keen on bolstering their offensive unit by signing a versatile striker in the winter transfer window. So, the 28-year-old centre-forward has emerged as a target for the West Midlands outfit amid his exploits for Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas.

The latest report has revealed Aston Villa’s offer to Besiktas to sign the Englishman, having submitted a bid worth €18 million to secure his services. However, the Black Eagles have made a counteroffer by asking for €20 million or cash-plus-Evann Guessand in the deal to sell Abraham. Meanwhile, the former Chelsea striker has also emerged as a target for Everton.

Tammy Abraham and his career in recent years

Tammy Abraham has endured a topsy-turvy ride since leaving Chelsea. He joined AS Roma in August 2021 and enjoyed a solid debut season. However, poor form and fitness issues plagued the 28-year-old after that, and his loan stint with AC Milan in the 2024/25 season was a disaster.

However, the English striker has resurrected his stuttering fortunes this season, scoring 13 goals and providing three assists in 25 appearances across all competitions during his loan spell with Besiktas. The situation has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Aston Villa and Everton are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the winter transfer window.

Premier League return on the horizon?

Aston Villa’s interest in Tammy Abraham is understandable. The Villans have been combing the market for a versatile attacker heading into the winter transfer window. With Aston Villa being overdependent on Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers, they must sign a productive forward in the winter transfer window. So, they have offered €18 million to sign the Englishman this month.

As for Everton, Beto and Thierno Barry have not been consistent enough in the 2025/26 season, and widespread reports have linked the former with a move away from the Merseyside club. Several candidates, including Youssef En-Nesyri, have thus emerged on Everton’s wishlist, with Abraham also a viable target.

Meanwhile, Besiktas will not accept Aston Villa’s bid worth €18 million, and they have presented a counteroffer. The Black Eagles want either €20 million or cash-plus-Evann Guessand to sell the 28-year-old English striker to the West Midlands outfit. Aston Villa will not accept the second proposal, and it will be interesting to see if they can beat Everton to Abraham’s signature.
