Chelsea keen on Franco Mastantuono, Real Madrid ready to sell

Chelsea are reportedly interested in a move for Franco Mastantuono, with Real Madrid rumoured to be prepared to consider offers.

According to Fichajes, Chelsea are reportedly willing to accelerate their interest in Franco Mastantuono, and Real Madrid might consider offers for the attacker. The teenager is not thought to be integrating well, as per the report, which could pave the way for a big sale despite only arriving in the summer from River Plate.

Franco Mastantuono was being seen as a big part of Real Madrid’s present and future, given the €45 million the club paid to sign the teenager from River Plate in the summer. After impressing for the Argentine side at an early age, the young attacker integrated well into Xabi Alonso’s plans early on.

Alonso preferred to play him regularly over the likes of Rodrygo Goes, which prompted many reports to state the latter would be sold in January. Mastantuono, despite playing regularly in the first phase of the campaign, has lost ground since, as Rodrygo has come back into the picture.

Real Madrid have since ruled out a January exit for Rodrygo, but they are now open to the prospect of selling Mastantuono. The €45 million playmaker had interest from Premier League clubs in the summer before he chose to sign for the Spanish giants.

Now, Chelsea are in the frame as per the report to make a big move, and could be willing to fork out a big sum to test Real Madrid’s resolve. The Blues could now look to take advantage of the situation and test with an offer to see if the €45 million playmaker is achievable.

Chelsea to sign Franco Mastantuono

Mastantuono could be a good addition to the Chelsea project, with the club consistently looking for the best young talent in the market. The Argentine star could mark a big coup if the Blues can get a deal in place, although this report might only be a rumour of sorts.

Real Madrid may not be using Mastantuono much these days, but that does not negate the fact of how they view his future. The Spanish giants consider him a big part of the future, and their €45 million investment is proof of their plans, as a big offer from Chelsea might be turned down.
