Liverpool have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Manchester United, Barcelona, and Real Madrid attacking target Yan Diomande.

Ivory Coast international Yan Diomande’s sensational rise has resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe. While some of the biggest clubs are set to battle it out for his signature, Liverpool have been handed a massive boost by the 19-year-old after he made it clear that he wants to play for the Merseyside club.

Diomande wants Liverpool move

Yan Diomande, who is currently away on international duty for the African Cup of Nations but will return in the coming days, recently spoke about his future ambitions ahead of their defeat to Egypt in the quarter-finals. He was asked about which club he would like to play for, and the teenager did not shy away from talking about his desire to play for Liverpool.

While talking about his future goals during a live stream on Instagram via : “I want to play at Anfield, I want to play for Liverpool,”

“I’m a big Liverpool fan. My father’s dream is to see me play for Liverpool.”

Diomande made a name for himself while playing for CD Leganes, before joining RB Leipzig last summer in a deal worth a bargain €20 million. He has been on fire since making the move to the Bundesliga.

The 19-year-old has been involved in a total of 16 matches across competitions, and he has managed to contribute towards 11 goals. His performances have resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe. Clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Barcelona have sent scouts to watch him in action.

European giants are ready to battle for Yan Diomande

European bigwigs consider the teenage prospect one of the brightest young talents in the world, and they do not want to miss out on him at any cost. While Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Barcelona have a massive pull, they have a massive disadvantage in the race, following Diomande’s comments regarding his future.

The teenage attacking sensation has made it quite clear that he wants to play for Liverpool, where he could end up being the long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian international could leave the club at the end of the season, and Diomande could be an interesting replacement signing.

A winter move already looks off the table, given the cost of the operation, and signing him in the summer won’t be easy either, as the Red Bull group have dismissed speculation that he would be available for around €60 million. They want around double that amount to consider selling him.

However, the report suggests the Reds might be able to sign him for around €80-100 million next summer. While it is still a massive fee, Liverpool might consider meeting their demands amidst interest from Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
