Official | Nice sign Eintracht Frankfurt’s Elye Wahi on loan

Eintracht Frankfurt forward Elye Wahi (22) has joined Ligue 1 side OGC Nice on loan for the remainder of the season, both clubs have announced.

The Frenchman returns to Ligue 1 after leaving for the Bundesliga in January 2025, switching Marseille for Frankfurt. Since his arrival, Wahi has scored just one goal in 614 minutes, spread across 25 games in all competitions. Just in November, Dino Toppmöller didn’t nominate the 22-year-old attacker in his matchday squad for performance-related reasons.

A return to France will hopefully coincide with a return to form for Eintracht’s €26m signing, who scored 29 league goals for Montpellier over two seasons between 2021 and 2023, which earned him a move to RC Lens, and then Marseille.

“Elye Wahi has already showed what he’s capable of in the French league. We wish him all the best for the coming months in Nice and, above all, that he regains his self-belief and assurance. We’ll keep a close eye on his progress and believe that a loan spell at an ambitious club is the most sensible solution for everyone,” said SGE’s Board member for sport Markus Krösche.
