West Ham United discussing permanent exit for Luis Guilherme as FC Porto, Sporting CP advance moves

FC Porto are ready to battle with rivals Sporting CP for the signature of West Ham misfit Luis Guilherme ahead of January.

According to Team Talk, West Ham United are ready to entertain permanent offers for Brazilian misfit Luis Guilherme ahead of the January window. Portuguese giants Sporting CP and FC Porto are ready to commence a fierce battle for the young attacker, with the Hammers eager for a permanent solution.

Luis Guilherme arrived at West Ham United from Palmeiras in 2024 with huge expectations. At the time, there were many Brazilian youngsters making headlines, and Guilherme was one of them at Palmeiras, as the Hammers forked out £25 million to sign him.

He has certainly failed to hit the ground running at the London Stadium, as little to no minutes are seriously hurting his development as well as market value. Given the short proximity between his arrival and now, the Hammers are ready to cut their losses on the £25 million wonderkid and sell him for a price significantly lower than what they paid.

Sporting CP were keen on Guilherme earlier, as they are not the only team in the mix, as Portuguese rivals FC Porto have also entered the race. West Ham are ready to entertain offers coming their way, as they have some financial constraints that could see them offload the Brazilian attacker.

Sporting CP had initially planned a loan-to-buy approach, and the Hammers were open to the idea if the deal came with a buy obligation. However, the Londoners have changed their stance, and now they are looking to offload the £25 million wonderkid permanently and are ready to accept offers in the region of £15-£17.5 million, including add-ons.

Portuguese battle for Luis Guilherme?

Guilherme, still only 19, has a long career in front of him, especially if he can find the right environment to develop. West Ham could not offer that, but the likes of Porto and Sporting CP have a proven track record in doing just that, as the Portuguese giants are set to battle for his signature.

Both clubs could make competitive offers in the region of what West Ham seeks for the £25 million wonderkid. Either of those clubs would be good enough for Guilherme to develop his game and re-establish himself in the European ranks.
