‘Done deal’: Real Oviedo have their first January signing secured
La Liga outfit Real Oviedo have a deal in place to add to the club’s midfield ranks during the January transfer window.
This comes amid confirmation of the Carbayones closing an agreement for the signing of Nicolás Fonseca.
Fonseca, for his part, is a 27-year-old midfielder, who generally takes to the pitch in a deep-lying, defensive-minded role.
He is currently plying his club trade in Mexico’s top-flight, with León.
Fonseca is also a senior international with his native Uruguay since 2024, racking up seven appearances for the Celeste to date.
And as alluded to above, such efforts look set to culminate in an imminent move to La Liga for the engine room standout.
As per a report from market insider Matteo Moretto:
‘Nicolás Fonseca’s move to Real Oviedo is a done deal.’
Fonseca is expected to arrive at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere on loan for the 2nd half of the 2025/26 campaign.
