Chelsea looking for buyers for Nicolas Jackson amid Aston Villa, Everton, Newcastle United links
Aston Villa, Everton and Newcastle United have received a boost in their pursuit of Nicolas Jackson, as Chelsea are looking for potential buyers.
Nicolas Jackson’s future has yet again become a massive talking point. The Chelsea forward, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich, will not be staying at the German club beyond this season. As a result, the London club have started looking for buyers as per a report from CaughtOffside.
Jackson had a decent season at Chelsea last time out as he bagged 13 goals and six assists in his 37 outings. However, those performances were not good enough to convince Enzo Maresca that he was the ideal fit to be their preferred choice in the final third.
As a result, they ended up signing Liam Delap and Joao Pedro during the summer. With Jackson set to have a limited role in the team, the Senegalese international started pushing for a move away. Eventually, he secured a loan move to German giants Bayern Munich.
The loan spell isn’t really going according to plan for him, as he has racked up just 542 minutes of first-team action across his 18 appearances. While he has contributed towards six goals, he has been able to establish himself as a key figure in the team under Vincent Kompany.
The Bundesliga outfit do have a buy clause in his loan deal, but they are unlikely to trigger it. While he is set to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, he has no future under Maresca. As a result, the Blues have already started looking for buyers.
Premier League trio who are keen on Jackson
Chelsea want to get him off the books next summer, amidst interest from multiple English clubs. Aston Villa, Everton and Newcastle United are all interested in acquiring his services.
While Eddie Howe did bring in Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa to help him cope with Alexander Isak’s departure, he might still look for more options in the final third, and Jackson could certainly help their cause.
Meanwhile, Villa are also looking to bring in someone who can compete with Ollie Watkins and eventually replace him. As far as Everton are concerned, they lack firepower in the final third and Jackson has it in him to be their main man up top.
