Eric Dier set for Monaco return, as Sébastien Pocognoli gives Paul Pogba update

Eric Dier has yet to play for AS Monaco since the arrival of Sébastien Pocognoli back in October. The Englishman had been set to return from a hamstring injury and was even included in a matchday squad at the end of November, however, he then sustained a calf injury. 

However, in Friday’s training session, attended by Get French Football News, Dier was involved and speaking ahead of Sunday’s match against Olympique de Marseille, Sébastien Pocognoli said that the former Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich player was available for the encounter, as it is Christian Mawissa, who has also returned from injury. Ansu Fati remains sidelined.

Pogba not fit to face Galatasaray, but

Pocognoli also explained why Paul Pogba did not warm up during Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League. The France internatioanl felt a small problem during the warm-up (knee twist), and so Pocognoli did not wish to take a risk. “He wasn’t at 100%,” revealed Pocognoli. Pogba did, however, train normally on Friday. Pocognoli could, nonetheless, not confirm that La Pioche would definitely be there against OM, even if his name was not cited when Pocognoli spoke about the absences for Sunday’s match.
