Strasbourg’s Emanuel Emegha out until 2025

RC Strasbourg Alsace captain Emanuel Emegha missed last weekend’s defeat against Toulouse FC after being suspended by his own club. L’Équipe now understands that the Netherlands international won’t feature again in 2025.

Strasbourg did not specify the exact reason for Emegha’s suspension, but the press release referred to failure to “respect the values and expectations set in the club’s rules.” He was, however, expected to travel to Toulouse in order to be with the team. Ultimately, that did not happen, with Liam Rosenior revealing that the centre-forward had suffered an injury in training on Friday.

The extent of the injury has now been revealed by L’Équipe. Emegha has suffered a small thigh tear. He will therefore not travel for the club’s UEFA Europa Conference League clash against Aberdeen on Thursday, and he will not feature again in 2025. The soon-to-be Chelsea forward is expected to return in around three weeks.
