AS Roma, Napoli make approach for Federico Chiesa move
AS Roma and Napoli have reportedly made their moves to sign 28-year-old Italian international Federico Chiesa from Liverpool next year.
According to a report by Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, AS Roma and Napoli are interested in Federico Chiesa. The two Serie A clubs are keen on reinforcing their offensive units by signing a wide attacker in the winter transfer window. So, the 28-year-old Liverpool winger has emerged as a target for them.
Roma and Napoli have submitted enquiries to discuss a possible move for the Genova native. However, it is unclear if Liverpool will entertain bids to part ways with Chiesa next year after recent comments by Arne Slot, where he praised his attitude and impact off the bench.
Federico Chiesa has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Liverpool from Juventus in a deal worth £10 million in August 2024. While the 28-year-old winger has shown flashes of brilliance in the final third, he has been a bit-part player for the Merseyside outfit in the last 18 months, with game time coming at a premium for him.
Meanwhile, Chiesa may have felt he could have turned things around at Anfield after scoring the match-winning goal against Bournemouth in Gameweek 1 of the 2025/26 season. However, he has only 384 minutes of game time in 15 appearances thus far, chipping in with two goals and three assists. However, the Italian international remains a hot property in the market, with AS Roma Napoli among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.
Federico Chiesa has been on Napoli’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, as Antonio Conte wants more firepower in the final third. While the Italian tactician faces an uncertain future at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, the latest report has revealed that Aurelio De Laurentiis is ready to back him in the winter transfer window.
As for AS Roma, Gian Piero Gasperini wants more firepower in the final third by signing versatile attackers. The Serie A
