Manchester United interested in signing Sergio Ramos
Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are interested in acquiring the services of former Real Madrid defensive mainstay Sergio Ramos.
According to Cadena SER via Fichajes, Manchester United could end up making a move for Sergio Ramos. The Red Devils are on the lookout for more quality at the back, and they would look to secure the services of the former Real Madrid skipper.
Ramos came up the ranks at Sevilla and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining Los Blancos in the summer of 2005. He had a 16-year-long spell at the Madrid-based club and won every major title.
After a dominant spell in the Spanish capital, which was filled with trophies, he had short spells at PSG and Sevilla before joining Mexican outfit Monterrey at the start of 2025. He had an immediate impact at the Liga MX club, both on and off the pitch.
The 39-year-old was involved in 32 matches, and he even bagged seven goals. While he did enjoy his time in Mexico, Ramos is all set to leave the club at the end of the year. He wants to try a new challenge in what could be his final stint, and is open to a return to a European giant.
United want Sergio Ramos
Manchester United have emerged as a potential destination for the soon-to-be free agent. The Red Devils might have focused on signing young players with massive potential of late, but they seem interested in Ramos’ services, as he could be a great short-term fix.
Ruben Amorim seeks more quality at the back. He wants to bring in someone who can add experience, leadership and tactical awareness. Ramos is seen as a perfect fit for the club. While he is no longer the player he once was, his arrival could certainly lift the entire dressing room.
While United are keen on his signature, it will be interesting to see if they do actually make a move for him. Ramos certainly will be very interested in trying out the Premier League, and despite his age, he could still prove to be a very valuable asset for them.
