Predicted Manchester United lineup against Wolverhampton Wanderers: Cunha to start; de Ligt in for Heaven

Matthijs de Ligt will replace Ayden Heaven in the Manchester United starting lineup when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux on Monday.

Manchester United will be eager to return to winning ways and climb to fifth in the Premier League standings when they lock horns with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux on Monday night. Ruben Amorim has a new issue to worry about ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Diogo Dalot picked up a minor injury in the game against West Ham United, and Amorim has been sweating over his fitness. Dalot and Matthijs de Ligt (knock) face late fitness tests to determine their availability, but they should be available to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers.

However, Harry Maguire (hamstring) and Benjamin Sesko (knee) remain in the treatment room, although they should return next week. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, which happened after the game against West Ham United, Amorim provided fitness updates on Dalot and de Ligt.

The Manchester United manager said, “I think so [Dalot and de Ligt being fit to lock horns with Wolverhampton Wanderers]. We’ll see.”

Meanwhile, Amorim also responded to questions about a lack of game time for Kobbie Mainoo and Shea Lacey. The Manchester United boss said, “I see it. I see it and I just want to win. I try to put the players. I don’t look who it is. I don’t care about that. I’m just trying to put the best players on the pitch.”

“You have [Manuel] Ugarte that played two games. One of them, Case [Casemiro] was out. Bruno [Fernandes] is always fit [and] is the guy that is doing his position. So maybe it has to do with that. Sometimes, when Bryan [Mbeumo] is not there, I put Amad [there] because I have other wing-backs to play and sometimes it’s hard.”

“So you are asking me, why I don’t put Lacey to play, when I have other guys that are internationals and also they are on the bench? So I try to put the best guys, the prepared guys for this moment of the club, and try to win a game. That’s the only thing, guys.”

Senne Lammens will take his usual spot between the sticks, with Manchester United lining up in a 3-4-2-1 formation in front of him against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday. The central defensive unit will feature Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, and Luke Shaw. Amad Diallo and Patrick Dorgu will be the two wing-backs.

As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes in the double pivot. Finally, Joshua Zirkzee will lead the line for the visitors against Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo playing behind him. So, Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo, and Diogo Dalot will be among the backup options on the bench for the away side.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Lammens; Mazraoui, de Ligt, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Cunha; Zirkzee
