Aston Villa interested in Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson

Aston Villa may look to sign Liam Delap or Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea in the winter transfer window, and they are closely monitoring their situations.

According to a report by Football Insider, Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson are the subjects of interest from Aston Villa. The Villans are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the winter transfer window. So, the Chelsea striker and the Bayern Munich loanee have emerged on the West Midlands club’s radar.

Liam Delap has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Chelsea from Ipswich Town this past summer. The Englishman arrived at Stamford Bridge amid hype and fanfare surrounding him after the West London club paid a cost-effective fee to secure his services. However, an untimely injury kept Delap in the treatment room for several weeks.

Since returning, the 22-year-old has been behind Joao Pedro in the pecking order, and he has managed only 421 minutes of game time in ten appearances thus far for Chelsea this term. On the other hand, Nicolas Jackson was no longer in Enzo Maresca’s plans despite two impressive campaigns after arriving from Villarreal.

Bayern Munich signed the Senegalese international on a season-long loan deal on the final day of the summer transfer window. However, Jackson has managed only 464 minutes of game time across 15 appearances thus far for Bayern Munich, chipping in with five goals and one assist.

Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson have emerged on Aston Villa’s radar, with the West Midlands club scouring the market for a striker heading into the winter transfer window, as Ollie Watkins has not been productive enough thus far in the 2025/26 season. So, Unai Emery wants more firepower in the final third.

Several candidates, including Igor Thiago, have thus emerged on Aston Villa’s radar, with Delap and Jackson also being viable targets. However, a winter move for Jackson may be unlikely, even though Bayern Munich will not trigger the purchase option to seal a permanent move for the Senegalese international next summer.

As for Delap, it will be surprising to see Chelsea accepting an offer for the English striker only six months after signing him from Ipswich Town. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Delap and Jackson.
