Arsenal establish contact with Kenan Yildiz, captivated by player

Arsenal will reportedly look to sign 20-year-old Turkish international Kenan Yildiz from Serie A club Juventus, and they have contacted his entourage.

According to a report by Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Kenan Yildiz is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are eager to bolster their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker next year. So, the 20-year-old Juventus attacking sensation has emerged as a target for the North London club.

The Premier League table-toppers are “captivated” by the young Turk amid his exploits for the Serie A club, and they have established contact with his representatives. Meanwhile, Juventus’s contract talks with Yildiz have not progressed well, as they have offered €5 million-a-year wages, while the player is demanding an annual salary of €6-7 million.

How has Kenan Yildiz become a household name?

Kenan Yildiz has established himself as one of the best players in Serie A since breaking into the first-team squad at Juventus. The 20-year-old spent most of his formative years in Germany and rose in prominence during his time in Bayern Munich’s youth division. However, the Turkish international graduated from the academy at Juventus after the Bianconeri beat several bigwigs to his signature in July 2022.

The Turkish international made his senior bow at Juventus at the onset of the 2023/24 season, and he has made significant progress since then. Yildiz has made over 100 appearances thus far for the Serie A club while chipping in with 21 goals and 16 assists. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several bigwigs, including Arsenal.

London calling?

Arsenal’s interest in Kenan Yildiz is understandable. While Mikel Arteta has a stacked offensive unit, Leandro Trossard’s long-term future is uncertain. Additionally, the Belgian international is on the wrong side of 30. So, while Trossard has been Arsenal’s most productive attacker, they must look for another option for the attacking department.

Several candidates have thus emerged on Arsenal’s radar, with Yildiz also a viable target. The latest report has revealed that the Premier League table-toppers are “captivated” by the young Turk amid his exploits for the Serie A club, and they have established contact with his representatives. Meanwhile, the player’s stalling contract talks with Juventus have alerted Arsenal.

The Serie A giants have offered €5 million-a-year wages, while the player is demanding an annual salary of €6-7 million. So, with the two parties differing on possible contract terms, it will be interesting to see if Arsenal can turn the 20-year-old Turkish international’s head.
