Tottenham plotting €85 million move for Rodrygo Goes

Tottenham are plotting an €85 million move for disgruntled Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes ahead of the January window.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham are ready to take a big step towards Rodrygo Goes and cement their interest with a firm offer. Spurs are willing to table an €85 million offer, including add-ons, for the disgruntled Real Madrid star, as the Spanish giants might be open to a sale.

Rodrygo Goes was considered a firm departure from Real Madrid back in the summer, but ended up staying at the Bernabeu in the hope of regaining his place. Xabi Alonso has so far preferred others in the Brazilian’s place, as Arda Guler and Franco Mastantuono have usurped the Brazilian’s minutes in the team.

Alonso may not stand in the way of the club if they decide to sell Rodrygo ahead of the January window. The Brazilian has already contemplated leaving the club in search of regular minutes elsewhere, as without consistent game time, he might miss out on Brazil’s World Cup squad next year.

The Premier League seems like the most obvious destination for the disgruntled Real Madrid star, with Manchester City one of those interested. There were many other teams keen back in the summer, which could see them return, although Chelsea are not in talks despite rumours stating otherwise.

Tottenham are also interested, and could push to position themselves as a strong contender in the race for Rodrygo. Thomas Frank is keen to add a top-notch attacker to the mix and could view the Brazilian as an ideal candidate to fill in the void on the left wing, something the Dane has not figured out in his short reign at Spurs.

Tottenham to make Rodrygo offer

Tottenham have reportedly prepared an €85 million offer to test Real Madrid’s resolve on Rodrygo. The report states that Spurs are prepared to pay €70 million in fixed fees with the remaining €15 million in add-ons. The proposal might seem significant enough for the Spanish giants, given the Brazilian’s situation at the club.

Whether Rodrygo sees Tottenham as the right move in his career remains to be seen, given that he will have more suitors to choose from. Spurs are probably lower down the order if some of the other suitors from back in the summer re-emerge, especially if the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal or Liverpool come forward with their interest in the Real Madrid star.
