Illan Meslier offered to AC Milan, Inter Milan

Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Leeds United outcast Illan Meslier.

According to a report from Inter Live, Illan Meslier could be heading to Serie A, as the Leeds United outcast has been offered to AC Milan and Inter Milan. Both Italian giants are on the lookout for a new shot-stopper, and the French goalkeeper could be an interesting option for them.

Meslier came up the ranks at FC Lorient, and on the back of an impressive season with their first team, Leeds secured his services in the summer of 2019. While it was an initial loan move, it was made permanent next summer.

The 25-year-old was an instant hit at the Yorkshire-based club, and he became a regular feature in their XI in no time. Over the years, he has featured in 214 matches for them and has kept 72 clean sheets.

While the 1.97-meter goalkeeper had an impressive start to life at Leeds and has been a prominent figure under Daniel Farke, he lost his place in the team towards the end of last season. Meslier looks surplus to requirements and hasn’t featured in a single game this season.

With his contract running out at the end of the season, Leeds are looking to get him off their books. They do not want to lose out on him for free, and are hoping to cash in on him in the winter window. Super agent Pini Zahavi is working hard to get him out of Leeds as early as January.

Italian giants could battle for Zahavi

With the club pushing to offload him, there is a high possibility of a winter window. Inter Milan and AC Milan have been linked with the 25-year-old, as Zahavi seems to have offered them the chance to sign the French goalkeeper.

Inter Milan are looking to prepare for life without Yann Sommer. The 36-year-old shot-stopper’s contract runs out at the end of the season, and he could end up leaving the club. With Josep Martinez unable to make the most out of his limited opportunities, the club are looking for a new goalkeeper, and Meslier could be an interesting option.

He has also been offered to AC Milan, who are gearing up for the potential departure of Mike Maignan. The French international looks set for a move away, and the club are looking for an ideal replacement. The 25-year-old hasn’t had the best of times at Leeds in recent months, but he can certainly prove to be a valuable addition to Milan’s first team.
