Adama Traore could be available for cut-price fee in January
West Ham United have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Adama Traore, as he could be available for a cut-price fee in January.
According to a report from Football Insider, West Ham United are keen on acquiring the services of Adama Traore as they look to reunite him with Nuno Espirito Santo. The Hammers’ pursuit has received a boost as they have been informed that a cut-price deal could be accepted in January.
Traore made quite a name for himself while playing for Wolves, and he even had an impressive short spell at Barcelona. He eventually left Wolves to join Fulham in the summer of 2023 upon the expiry of his contract.
The 29-year-old has done a decent job at the West London club. He has been involved in 71 matches so far and has contributed towards 17 goals. While he is an important member of Marc Silva’s future, his future has become a big talking point as his contract runs out at the end of the season.
Espirito Santo keen on reuniting with Traore
Traore has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham in recent weeks. Nuno Espirito Santo is quite keen on reuniting with the Spanish winger. He wanted to sign him at Nottingham before being sacked just weeks into the new season.
Now, the Portuguese manager is pushing to bring him to the London club, as he feels they lack firepower in the final third. The Cottagers seek more quality on the flanks. They are looking for someone who can unsettle opposition defence with his pace, and Traore’s profile seems to be a perfect match.
The 29-year-old enjoyed a very successful stint under Espirito Santo at Wolves, and he is keen on playing under him again. The manager is already pushing West Ham to sign him, and they believe it could be a beneficial move for all parties involved.
The Barcelona graduate has decided against penning a new deal at Fulham. As a result, the Cottagers are willing to sanction his departure in the upcoming winter transfer window. Pete O’Rourke has suggested that they are ready to accept a cut-price offer for him.
O’Rourke on Traore’s future
While speaking on the Inside Track podcast, the transfer expert said: “He’s not going to agree a new deal at Fulham, this could be their last chance to cash in on them if they are to sell them in January.
“He’s not really been a regular in the Fulham team. So, Traore could be interested in a move away himself to become a regular starter in West Ham’s side as well. He would tick a lot of boxes for West Ham.
“He could become available for a cut-price fee due to his contract situation as well and I’m sure the player will be interested in a move to work again with Nuno Espirito Santo.
“I’m sure Nuno would like to have somebody of the quality of Traore that he could call upon in the second half of the season if West Ham do find themselves in a relegation fight.”
With Traore not keen on signing an extension, this could be Fulham’s final opportunity to cash in on him. Since he is not a regular starter under Silva, the player could also end up pushing for a move. With the transfer window fast approaching, this is certainly one to keep an eye on.
