Real Madrid “virtually” unlikely to sign Marc Guehi

Real Madrid have been linked to the move for 25-year-old Crystal Palace defender, Marc Guehi, but a move may not materialise.

According to a report by Spanish publication AS, Real Madrid have fallen behind Liverpool and Munich in the race to sign Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi. The 25-year-old will be a free agent at the end of the season, and he could be available for a reasonable amount of money in January.

Real Madrid have been heavily linked with the player, and they need someone like him. Los Blancos need more quality in the defensive unit, and he would be a useful acquisition. They could have signed him for free transfer at the end of the season.

Alternatively, the Merengues could look to bring the move forward and sign the player for a nominal price in January. However, it seems that Real Madrid are virtually unlikely to get the deal done.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can win the race for his signature. The Reds came close to signing the 25-year-old during the summer transfer window, but Crystal Palace pulled the plug on the deal at the last moment after failing to secure a replacement. Liverpool will certainly fancy their chances of getting the deal done this time.

Bayern Munich are interested in securing his signature as well. They could certainly use more quality in the defensive unit. The Englishman has proved his ability in the Premier League, and he has the quality to do well in Germany as well. Guehi will want to join a big club where he will be able to fight for major trophies consistently.

Moving to Liverpool or Bayern Munich could be quite exciting for him. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. There is no doubt that he is one of the best defenders in the Premier League. Signing a player of his quality on a free transfer would be a masterstroke for any side.

If Liverpool manage to convince him to join the club, it would be a huge boost for them. Ibrahima Konate may leave the club at the end of the season, and Liverpool will need to replace him properly.
