Manchester United set to lose out to Atletico Madrid in Breno Bidon race

Manchester United appear to be losing the race for Corinthians midfielder Breno Bidon, with Atletico Madrid currently advancing.

According to Jorge Nicola via Sport Witness, Manchester United are seemingly cooling their interest in the race for Breno Bidon. Atletico Madrid are advancing in the race for the Corinthians midfielder as they have already made an offer to the player’s camp to be presented to the Brazilian side.

Manchester United are looking at various options to improve their midfield ranks, as the January window could represent a time when they could bring in a new player in the position. Central midfield was also an area the club wanted to strengthen back in the summer before backing away from the chase of Carlos Baleba.

Baleba might still be an option for the longer term, but in the January window, they may go with a different profile of a player. The change in direction might be dictated by Kobbie Mainoo’s immediate future, with the young midfielder still linked with Napoli as he could seek an exit for regular minutes even if it is temporary.

Elliot Anderson remains linked with a move, but there are obvious challenges in signing the Nottingham Forest star. Lucas Paqueta is another player on their list, but the Brazilian is seen as similar to Bruno Fernandes to an extent.

Manchester United were recently linked with Breno Bidon, the 20-year-old South American prodigy from Corinthians, as a potential option. It appears the Red Devils have monitored the young Corinthians star for a considerable period, but as per Jorge Nicola via YouTube, they may have cooled their interest.

Atletico Madrid advancing for Breno Bidon

As per Nicola, Manchester United appears to have cooled their interest in Bidon, but Atletico Madrid are advancing in the race. The Spanish giants have reportedly made an €18 million offer to the 20-year-old South American prodigy’s camp, which they will take to Corinthians soon.

Corinthians are protected by a contract until 2029, and had wanted to sell Bidon for a fee in the region of €20 million. Atletico Madrid’s offer comes very close to that figure and may work out for all parties concerned. The reasons for Manchester United’s lack of effort in advancing for the 20-year-old South American prodigy remain unclear, but their loss is Atletico Madrid’s gain, who could sign one of the promising talents out of Brazil soon.
