Manchester United regularly scouting Kerim Alajbegovic
Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are continuously scouting Red Bull Salzburg attacking sensation Kerim Alajbegovic.
According to Sport BILD via Sport Witness, Manchester United are interested in acquiring the services of Kerim Alajbegovic, who has been in sensational form since joining Red Bull Salzburg. While they are intensively scouting him ahead of a potential transfer, they will struggle to beat Bayer Leverkusen to his signature.
Alajbegovic was a part of the Bayer Leverkusen youth setup, but he ended up parting ways with them during the last summer transfer window. The 18-year-old winger left the German club to join Salzburg in search of a more prominent role.
The Austrian outfit forked out €2 million to add the Bosnian international to their ranks. The teenager has been in fine form since making the switch. Born in Germany, he has been involved in 21 matches across competitions, racking up over 1,100 minutes of first-team action and has even contributed towards seven goals.
Manchester United are unlikely to win race for Alajbegovic
While Kerim Alajbegovic prefers playing out wide on the left flank, he is equally effective as a number ten or a right-winger. His sensational rise has put him on the radar of Manchester United. The Red Devils have made a significant change to their transfer policy in the recent past.
Of late, they have been targeting the young players with massive potential, and Alajbegovic certainly fits the bill. The Premier League giants are extensively scouting the teenager ahead of a potential move. However, it seems unlikely that Manchester United will be able to get their hands on him.
Bayer Leverkusen have no intention of letting him join another club, with the Bundesliga giants determined to beat any competition for his signature. They want to bring him back and have included buy-back options for 2026 and 2027, valued at €5-6 million next summer and slightly lower in 2027.
Die Werkself are more than happy to trigger the clause given this rapid development since joining the Austrian outfit. While Manchester United would love to sign Kerim Alajbegovic, it seems very unlikely that they will even stand a chance, despite the fact that they continue to scout him.
Bayer Leverkusen are aware of Manchester United’s interest in him, and they are planning to move ahead of the Premier League outfit. They are determined to bring him back, even if it means they end up sending him out on loan for next season.
