Eintracht Frankfurt face Bundesliga interest for Newcastle United’s William Osula
Eintracht Frankfurt reached an agreement with Newcastle United to sign William Osula on an initial loan deal with a €20m purchase option, but the Premier League club backed out at the eleventh hour.
Now, the Hessen club face competition from within the Bundesliga. As reported by Sport Bild, Stuttgart have also shown an interest in signing the Denmark U21 international. The two clubs worked together during the summer to facilitate Nick Woltemade’s move to Tyneside in a club record £69m deal.
However, Sport Bild adds that VfB see their chances of signing Osula as very slim, meaning Eintracht Frankfurt remain in pole position. But they themselves will also have difficulty in signing the Danish forward with NUFC having little intention of allowing the player to leave in January despite just 344 minutes of football across 14 games.
Whether Newcastle United would be open to allowing the 22-year-old to leave on an initial loan deal with a mandatory purchase option remains to be seen.
