Luciano Spalletti poised to sanction Dusan Vlahovic sale in January
Tottenham have received a significant boost in their pursuit of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic ahead of the winter transfer window.
Dusan Vlahovic could end up parting ways with Juventus in the upcoming winter transfer window. He is not seen as an ideal fit in Luciano Spalletti’s system, who is set to take charge as their new boss and with his contract running out, the Old Lady are ready to cash in on him mid-season.
According to a report from Milan Live, Tottenham are keen on signing the Serbian striker as they look to reinforce their attack. Juventus’s decision to cash in on him is a massive boost for the North London club. However, Spurs will still face stiff competition from AC Milan, who have a long-standing interest in Vlahovic.
The 25-year-old made a name for himself while playing for Fiorentina, and on the back of his impressive performances, he ended up joining Juventus at the start of 2022. While he has had his ups and downs at the Turin-based club, Vlahovic has certainly done a great job on the majority of the occasions.
However, the Serb seems set to part ways with the club in the near future, with his contract running out. Ideally, Juventus would love to extend his stay at the club, but both parties cannot reach a common ground with regard to his wages. As a result, a departure is almost certain.
Given that Dusan Vlahovic still had an important role under Igor Tudor, he was expected to be around until the end of his contract. However, with Tudor now gone and Spalletti set to take charge as their new boss, the Serbian striker’s future has once again become a big talking point.
Vlahovic to leave in January
The former Italy boss does not consider Dusan Vlahovic an important part of his plans. Since he is not an ideal fit for his system, Spalletti is ready to offload him in the upcoming transfer window. It will help lower their wage bill and make room for potential new signings.
It is a significant boost for Tottenham, who are on the lookout for a world-class forward. With Dominic Solanke struggling to stay fit since his big-money move from Bournemouth, Thomas Frank is desperate to have a reliable striker up top.
The North London club really admire the Serb, and they have reportedly already initiated talks to learn more about a potential transfer in January. Spurs will face significant competition from AC Milan, who were after his signature during the summer as well.
With Santiago Gimenez struggling to fire, AC Milan are keen on signing Vlahovic to bolster their attack. But the Rossoneri might not be able to match the Juventus striker’s current €12 million per season salary, which may give Tottenham the advantage in the race to sign him.
