Predicted Arsenal lineup against Crystal Palace: Trossard to start; Mosquera in for Gabriel
Leandro Trossard and Cristhian Mosquera will return to the Arsenal starting lineup when they host Crystal Palace at the Emirates on Sunday.
Arsenal will aim to widen the gap atop the Premier League table when they welcome Crystal Palace to the Emirates on Sunday afternoon. Mikel Arteta has a new injury concern to worry about ahead of his side’s latest fixture.
Arteta is sweating over Gabriel Magalhaes’s fitness after he came off with a hamstring issue earlier this week in the UEFA Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid. The Brazilian international faces a late fitness test to determine his availability.
Gabriel Magalhaes will accompany Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Noni Madueke in the treatment room if he is unavailable, with the quartet recovering from knee injuries. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Arteta provided a fitness update on the Brazilian defender.
The Arsenal manager said, “Big Gabi had to leave the pitch with an issue and he hasn’t been able to train yet, so let’s see how he evolves in the next 24 hours to see whether he’s available or not for the weekend.”
During his presser, Arteta also discussed the progress made by Odegaard, Havertz, Jesus, and Madueke. He said, “They are progressing really well. They are starting to do certain activities. They are all super willing to be available as quickly as possible, but at the moment, none of them are yet in contention in the next week or so.”
David Raya is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Arsenal lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against Crystal Palace on Sunday. The backline will feature Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Cristhian Mosquera, and Riccardo Calafiori. Calafiori will replace Myles Lewis-Skelly at left-back, while Mosquera will deputise for Gabriel Magalhaes.
As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice in the double pivot. Eberechi Eze will reprise the no. 10 role, with Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard being the two wide attackers. Finally, Viktor Gyokeres will lead the line for the home side against Crystal Palace. So, Gabriel Martinelli will be a backup option on the bench for the Gunners.

Predicted Arsenal XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Mosquera, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Eze, Trossard; Gyokeres
