Brentford star Michael Kayode’s agent: “He is growing game by game”
Brentford defender Michael Kayode has become the latest Serie A export to explode onto the English football scene, with his agent confirming that the level of his performances will inevitably attract interest from the Premier League’s top clubs. The 21-year-old right-back, formerly of Fiorentina, has quickly become a fan favorite at Brentford, with supporters even creating a chant for him: “Michael Kayode, Michael Kayode, he eats spaghetti, drinks Moretti, he hates Queens Park Rangers.”
Speaking exclusively to TuttoMercatoWeb, Kayode’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, addressed the early-season “mania” surrounding his client, which saw Kayode pick up the Man Of The Match award against champions Liverpool.
“We are very happy because he is growing game by game. The Premier League is a very physical league, it seems custom-made for him and Michael is proving he fits in perfectly,” Vigorelli stated.
Kayode, a key figure under coach Keith Andrews, is currently one of the league’s top players in minutes played and has made the starting XI in all nine of Brentford’s league games. When asked about potential interest from a “big club” in the Premier League, Vigorelli was frank but patient.
“It is still very early. Let’s enjoy this great moment he is having, but it is inevitable that if he continues with this trend, something important will arrive for him.”
Vigorelli also touched on Kayode’s move from Fiorentina, where he was not receiving consistent playing time, noting that the opportunity with Brentford was one they “exploited.” After a successful six-month loan, the club activated the option to buy, securing a talent that is now shining on the biggest stage. On the topic of the Italian national team, the agent expressed confidence, saying, “There is no rush. Michael is a 2004-born and will have the opportunity in the short-medium term to also consecrate the call-up to the senior National team.”
