Crystal Palace express interest in Jobe Bellingham
Crystal Palace are keen on signing Borussia Dortmund midfield sensation Jobe Bellingham, amidst interest from Manchester United.
According to a report from Football Insider, Crystal Palace have entered the race for the signature of Jobe Bellingham. The Eagles are keen on signing him and have registered their interest in the Borussia Dortmund midfielder ahead of the winter transfer window.
After an impressive two-year spell at Sunderland, Bellingham joined Dortmund last summer. But the move hasn’t really gone according to plan for him so far. The 20-year-old has struggled for consistency and hasn’t had enough game time at his new club.
He has only started two league games for Niko Kovac’s team so far. More importantly, the relationship between the player and Dortmund is still tense, following a bust-up at the start of the season. His father, Mark, confronted the German club’s sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, after his son was subbed off at the halfway mark on his debut.
That certainly didn’t go down well as the 49-year-old has been banned from all dressing room areas. The relationship between the two parties, along with his lack of game time, could result in a temporary departure mid-season.
English clubs are ready to bring Bellingham back
The Birmingham graduate could secure a return to England as multiple top clubs are after his signature. Manchester United are one of the clubs that are interested in the 20-year-old midfield sensation.
The Red Devils seek more quality in the centre of the park, and Ruben Amorim would certainly love to work with someone as versatile as the English youth international. United have a long-standing interest in him, and they are gearing up to make a move in January.
However, the Premier League giants are set to face competition from Palace. The Eagles have recently registered their interest in Bellingham. They have already made contact with the player’s camp regarding a potential move.
Oliver Glasner’s team will be in a good position to secure his services, having made an impressive start to the new season. The 20-year-old’s long-term future in Germany also remains uncertain, and a loan move could potentially pave the way for a permanent deal later on. It will be interesting to see which club eventually wins the race for his signature.
