Juventus Mull Sale of Manchester City and Real Madrid Target
Juventus refused to engage in the negotiation for Andrea Cambiaso when Manchester City inquired last January. His performances have steadily declined ever since. He was affected by an ankle sprain for a couple of months, but he didn’t bounce back when he got fully healthy.
According to Calciomercato, the situation would likely change if a top team came knocking in the near future. However, the offers won’t be as large as in the past. The Italy star remains an unquestioned pillar of the formation, but he hasn’t been a difference-maker in quite some time.
Juventus valued Cambiaso €60M in previous windows, when Manchester City and Real Madrid showed interest. His price tag has steeply decreased now. Coach Igor Tudor alluded to motivational issues behind his ongoing slump when recently asked about the player.
The 25-year-old had an okay finish last season, providing two assists in the last four rounds. Instead, he’s still searching for his first goal contribution in 2025/2026. The player and the Bianconeri will have to sit down and sort out the future together relatively soon, as his contract is up in 2027.
Our Take on Juventus and Cambiaso
He’s never been the same since injuring his ankle, but it’s been six months at this point. He should be one of the top beneficiaries of the switch from a four-man line to 3-4-2-1, but he’s all too often a non-factor. The Old Lady leans a lot more on the other wing, even though they usually have a lackluster offensive contributor there. His chemistry with Kenan Yildiz on the flank isn’t great, which doesn’t help either. It’s nice to have mainstays, but they’d probably take €40M for him and find an adequate replacement for less.
