Aston Villa agree new deal with Matty Cash

Aston Villa have agreed a new deal with experienced defender Matty Cash, with the Polish international extending until 2029 with an option.

According to Fabrizio Romano ,Matty Cash has agreed a new deal with Aston Villa to prolong his stay with the Birmingham-based club. The Polish defender has committed to the club until 2029 with the option of another season, as Aston Villa are now prioritising other renewals.

Aston Villa did well to keep hold of players that they considered key to their plans moving forward. There were a few of their experienced stars that the media reported could depart for the right offer, with Matty Cash one of them.

The Polish defender has not been totally convincing in Aston Villa colours, at least under Unai Emery, but he has been a reliable presence in the system. Some clubs were showing an interest, including Nottingham Forest among others, but the club did well to keep hold of the experienced wide player.

Aston Villa have now agreed a new deal with Cash over a new long-term contract that will last until 2029. The defender could stay on until 2030 if an option in the new agreement is exercised. For now, the future of the defender is quite secure, as the club may plan other areas to strengthen ahead of the January window.

Cash has been with the club for five years now, and has made 191 appearances across all competitions. He also has a healthy goals and assists record for a right-back, as the club will be delighted to keep hold of the experienced wide player for the next few years.

Aston Villa planning new contracts for key stars

The Cash deal is only considered the beginning of a plan from Aston Villa, which also involves extending the contracts of a few other key stars. John McGinn is set for a new deal at the club, with the Scottish international and club skipper considered key to their plans moving forward.

Morgan Rogers is also set for talks over a bumper new deal, with the club hoping to secure the star attacker’s future amid heavy interest from elsewhere. Should they manage to tie down those stars as well as Youri Tielemans, the club are in a good place for the next few years.
